Pogo Press Release 11/15/18
SEATTLE, WA, November 15, 2018 — Pogo Rides announces expansion of their successful ride-sharing app to parents across Washington, Oregon and California. The expansion is timed to a major new release that makes ride sharing radically simple. Launched at the end of 2016, Pogo was developed to better connect communities, easing the burden on families that need to get their children to school, extracurriculars, and other activities.
Launched as both an iOS and Android app, Pogo helps parents connect to make carpooling easy. By entering in standard routes like school, soccer practice, piano lessons and noting whether you can drive, need a ride, or are flexible, Pogo can sync users with other members going their way. Parents can add only those Pogo members they know and trust, offering parents peace of mind that their children will be well taken care of en route to where they need to go.
According to Melissa Lehman, Co-Founder & CEO, the last two years were critical to validating the app’s value with communities and identifying opportunities to improve the user experience. “Over the last two years we’ve built extremely active communities and engaged school administrators. It was the proof we needed that Pogo was meeting a critical need and easing transportation burdens. Our earliest users also provided valuable feedback to help us improve the app.”
What our users have to say:
“In my dream world I would build an app that would facilitate our non-profit’s transportation and communication. Well, I saved myself some time by finding Pogo!” – Josh H
“I’m a big believer that if our students feel connected to BRYC, it will drive our mission. Since we don’t offer transportation, Pogo fills the gap of getting our kids to school.”
“I was having a hard time finding other families who wanted to carpool. I told a few people about Pogo and it took off—we now have a five family carpool.” — Carly T, parent
“I need a POGO window decal, to let folks know I’m part of the tribe. I’m obsessed.” –Debbie C, parent
In addition to expanding their reach, Pogo is releasing the newest version of the app for both Android and iPhone users. The latest version automates the pain of carpool planning and give parents a flexible way to find and add trusted members, and plan transportation needs.
